This Code of Conduct identifies the standard of behaviour which is expected of all Grey/Bruce Special Hockey Foundation (GBSHF) members and participants. For the purpose of this policy this includes players, parents, guardians, coaches, officials, volunteers, executive members and trainers involved in GBSHF activities and events.
Grey/Bruce Special Hockey Foundation is committed to providing an environment. in which all individuals are treated with respect. Members and participants of GBSHF shall conduct themselves at all times in a manner consistent with the values of GBSHF which are fairness, integrity, mutual respect and most of all, ensure our players are having fun.
During the course of all Grey/Bruce Special Hockey Foundation activities and events, members shall avoid behaviour which brings GBSHF or the sport of hockey into disrepute. This includes but is not limited to abusive use of alcohol, use of profane language, use of non-medicinal drugs and the use of alcohol or tobacco products by minors.
Members and participants of Grey/Bruce Special Hockey Foundation shall not engage in any activity or behaviour which interferes with a competition, or with any player or team’s preparation for a competition, or which endangers the safety of others.
Members of Grey/Bruce Special Hockey Foundation shall refrain from comments or behaviour that is considered disrespectful, offensive, abusive, racist or sexist. In particular, behaviour which constitutes harassment or abuse will not be tolerated and will be dealt with by the GBSHF Executive.
Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct will result in disciplinary action decided by the Executive Committee. Discipline could range from suspension from playing or participating in Grey/Bruce Special Hockey Foundation events or dismissal from GBSHF entirely.
